Standard 3:    Plans and delivers effective instruction and creates an environment that facilitates learning for students

Attached above are two different types artifacts that create student learning and development the third artifact that I would like to describe is when we got to watch the Kinard Science teachers debrief.

The first artifact is an image of two pieces of paper that is highlighted to show ethos, pathos, and logos. One of the guest teacher who came in describe to us that it is good to have an example of what students just learned in a size that they can tape/glue in their notebooks (such as the images above). She also mentioned that when we can break things into colors its an easier way for the students to retain new understandings. Not only in that session did she talk about organization of note taking for students but also planning for the year. She broke down really how many days she had to teach in a month (which was less than expected) and how to get the most important information mapped out.

The second artifact is my making thinking visible reflection.Making thinking visible helps plan and deliver instruction as well as facilitate learning for students. One really great strategy I learned was Zoom in (also talked about in the word doc.). One of my peers taught us what zoom in is by having an image zoomed way in and pairing it with music, by the end of the activity we learned about the history of this train themed music and the history of a picture. I feel as though this is very engaging for the students and would peak their interest in the subject. The making thinking visible mini lessons also provided group work and development of leadership,  such as see-think-wonder. I had students work in groups and look at 4 different forms of art and first start to see/think on their own, then wonder about creation or reason then share with each other their findings.

The thirds artifact is when we got to observe the science teachers discuss test scores and what areas they felt needed more focus. This was an example of proactive vs reactive. They had the ideas of what can I do better tomorrow in response to the date and also what can I do better next year to ensure better results.

As for standard level I feel as though I am developing but close to proficient. I really would like to get more team work in the art classrooms I just need to think of how. I also feel like as for problem solving and student engagement I am pretty good at both of those areas of the standard.
