Meet the Artist:
My name is Melissa Newberry and I'm an educator and an artist. I explore many mediums and styles. Most of my art is attached to personal narrative and stories and experiences I've had. Click here to see my portfolio.
This is my final project in metalsmithing. It is a non functional teapot with butterfly wings that are decaying wrapping the pot. A silver full form butterfly wing is inside the teapot. It is a symbol for growth and freedom, but it is trapped in this jail like teapot form.
